It’s really a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.

masterpiece asks ✨
The other day
a 7 year old told me
she would never be
a princess.
I asked her why not
and she said,
‘Princesses are taught
to be pretty
and wait around for love
and I’d rather rule
the kingdom.’
I told her
she could do both
and she rolled her eyes
and said,
‘there’s not enough time
to be a queen
and deal with stinky boys, miss.’
And I think there’s a lot
to learn from a girl
who chooses to build herself a castle
instead of waiting around
for a stinky prince.
That girl
will someday rule the world
while the rest of us
are still chasing fairytales.
